The sun has shone and the birds have sung this week – it has been a joy to see so many children outside enjoying physical activity and lessons utilising the external space. Year 5 were treated to an exciting workshop on Liquid Nitrogen by Badminton School students. As part of their Transport topic, Reception brought in their bikes and scooters and completed the Christ Church Circuit, demonstrating great and safe wheeled transport handling skills. The Year 6 sports captains were fabulous at helping organise the event and encouraging the younger children.
As much of the school is preparing this week for assessments the newsletter is shorter than usual, and a day early – we look forward to sharing with you all the exciting activities that the children have planned through the next couple of months – please see the list of dates for the remainder of this term and next term. We hope that the weather will continue to be kind to us for the weeks ahead!

Year 4 have been combining their Literacy and Computing skills to publish their Spy Fox newspaper reports. They have learnt how to change fonts and colours, copy and paste images and type up text with a variety of different punctuation.
On Tuesday morning, Year 5 had an incredible science workshop from teachers and students at Badminton school all about liquid nitrogen. Learning that liquid nitrogen has a boiling point of -200o c, we were amazed by some of the experiments that we were able to observe. From flicking petals off flowers, popping smoke filled bubbles and ringing a bell with a banana, the scientists from Badminton packed the workshop with science knowledge. It was wonderful to see so many hands up to answer questions and so many of our own questions being asked.
Quiz Night:
The date for the Christ Church Quiz is approaching, and if you haven't already, please sign up soon to secure your spot. Despite the excitement and buzz surrounding the event, we still have not received many sign-ups. It is crucial for us to know how many individuals will be attending to ensure that the event can proceed as planned. The Quiz Night is a fab evening out and an essential fundraiser for our excellent school.
