Charge! Year 4 have been transported back to Roman Britain: helping lead the Celtic rebellion against the Roman invaders. We looked at the battle of Watling street where the Romans defeated Boudicca’s army that was (reportedly) ten times larger! We acted out her rebellion’s tragic demise to some incredibly moving music and performed it as a year group. Next we focused on Boudicca’s legacy and how she has been immortalised in art. Based on a Roman historians recount, we drew a watercolour interpretation of Boudicca and described her using powerful adjectives that reflected our illustration.
