Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education
PSHE Education (Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education) is a planned programme of learning through which children acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to successfully manage their lives – now and in the future. At Christ Church, we teach PSHE as a whole-school approach, underpinned by our school values, to support children’s capacity for learning and to encourage them to become healthy, happy individuals
Our aims:
How is PSHE taught at Christ Church?
At Christ Church, PSHE is taught through the Kapow Primary scheme of learning. This curriculum focuses on key areas such as health, safety, wellbeing, relationships, and financial matters, ensuring that children develop into confident individuals and active members of society.
The Kapow Primary scheme follows a whole-school approach and is divided into three areas of learning in EYFS (Reception) and five areas across Key Stages 1 and 2:
EYFS (Reception):
Key Stage 1 and 2:
Each area is revisited at various stages, enabling children to build on prior knowledge and develop a deeper understanding over time.
